I had a friend who willingly gave up a prize he won in a raffle because he couldn't get the CRAPCHA--er, CAPTCHA--right. He typed every new sequence that was displayed but still, the error message persisted. He must've made two dozen attempts before he eventually gave up. Come to think of it, it might've been a scam... But anyway, the point is, CAPTCHAs are pretty annoying.
Just give me a simple mathematical equation to solve any day, but just spare me from the CAPTCHAs, please, because they give me a serious headache.
Mocking CAPTCHAs and their annoying existence is the CRAPCHA, which is an acronym for 'Completely Ridiculous And Phony Captcha that Hassles for Amusement.' Do you agree with it? I do.
Created by human-computer interaction researcher Thomas Park, CRAPCHA displays intentionally indecipherable strings of characters that are impossible to type out completely on a keyboard. But even so, users are still pretty determined to get them right, as the results of their efforts are posted here.
The CRAPCHA can be easily embedded onto any site, so you might as well have a bit of fun at the expense of others by embedding it onto your own website.
