Tina Fey and Paul Rudd come together (no, we don't mean it in that way) to headline a new comedy slash drama movie entitled Admission.
The movie is based on Jean Hanff Korelitz's 2009 novel of the same title, where Fey portrays an admissions officer who bends the rules and pulls some strings to get her mischievous son Jeremiah admitted. The twist is that he's not really her son anymore, since she gave him up for adoption after he was born.
It sounds like a pretty serious story, but leave it up to Fey and Rudd to take such a heavy plot and fill it with light moments all throughout.
Focus Features would rather have the movie in theaters sooner rather than later, as CEO James Schamus has just announced today that filming for Admission has begun in New York and New Jersey.
Everyone at Focus is delighted to be continuing our collaboration with Paul Weitz, a truly humane filmmaker. As always, Paul has joined with an amazing cast, for a story that promises not only laughs and tears, but the deep pleasures of understanding and empathy.

Anyone else excited and ready for laughs? I know I am.
