Chris Rock Got Prior Written Consent

Chris Rock made some pointed comments at a number of OscarsSoWhite Academy Award malcontents during his opening monologue while hosting the event this past Sunday evening. It was a way of softening the blow for his larger note that Hollywood is indeed racist, just not the horrible kind.

"Jada's gonna boycott the Oscars? Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna's panties. I wasn't invited!"

"Her man Will was not nominated for Concussion. I get it. You get mad. It's not fair that Will was this good and didn't get nominated. You're right. It's also not fair that Will was paid $20 million for Wild Wild West!"

A motivation even more powerful than subconscious racism in Hollywood is ass-kissing. So much so that there are reports that Chris Rock cleared his Smith jokes with Will and Jada prior to their inclusion on the broadcast. Comedy is dangerous. More so when targeted at super rich and powerful pansexual Scientologists. Take a chance. Like casting a black lead in a film you've put $200 million into production and marketing. Life is for the daring. Hollywood not so much.
