Star Wars fans have had a lot of news in the last few weeks, almost none of it good, so it's nice to see something positive surrounding Star Wars these days. This new video released by the British Film Institute shines a spotlight on some Film Academy trainees working with Lucasfilm and gives us a few tantalizing behind the scenes shots from both The Last Jedi and the chaotic Han Solo movie.
Fair warning, there's not much to see here as most of the video focuses on the young men and women from the BFI Film Academy, but since we've been sorely lacking any sort of new information on The Last Jedi, I figured it's better to share a little something than nothing at all. I must admit that seeing Rey twirling that lightsaber on the beach has me eager to re-watch The Force Awakens, so that's something.
It's hard to deny that the more Lucasfilm withholds stuff from us, the more we crave it, and that's the best possible marketing ploy of all. In an age where every movie has five trailers and fourteen clips that show you a solid half of the movie before you even buy a ticket, we should be grateful for this treatment. The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15.
