CELEBRITY
Lex Jurgen - April 11, 2016
Charlize Theron took advantage of her position as an MTV Movie Award winner and being twenty-five years older than the MTV demo to declare her Max Max staged win a victory for Furiosa's everywhere. She dedicated her golden popcorn award to the younger of her of her two adopted black celebrity babies, who she declared a warrior, though not warrior enough to prevent Cruella from snatching up all the Dalmatian babies to make a brilliant fur coat.
The story of Fury Road is in part a story of the power of women and the power to create our own destinies.
And the other part a story of hot baby making slaves needing Max to save their ass. One strong female warrior character isn't exactly a Betty Friedan essay on vagina power. At least women survive the Road Warrior apocalypse unlike the black population. Explain that one to the We Pals brood you're assembling for your Sears family portrait. Your Apartheid guilt is showing.
