Atomic Blonde is going to be a very music-heavy film. How do I know? The first clip released last month was titled "Father Figure" and featured the George Michael tune of the same name. This new clip from the film is dubbed "The Politics of Dancing," and wouldn't you know it but there's that same song by BritPop band Re-Flex playing in the background.
This is all secondary to the fact that this new clip has a tantalizing taste of what we're all hoping for from this movie: A steamy lesbian encounter between Charlize Theron and Sofia Boutella. Here we get to see their first face-to-face encounter which ends with them locking lips... and Charlize pulling Sofia's gun on her. Seriously, if there's anything at all holding you back from wanting to see this, I don't know what it's gonna take to convince you. Maybe a trailer with nothing but critics blurbs personally directed at you like, "Mike Jones, you will love Atomic Blonde!"
I was sold on this one from jump street and clips like this only serve to bolster that excitement. I think this is going to be the sleeper hit of the summer. We'll find out when the film hits theaters on July 28.
