For a movie about the zombie apocalypse, the new trailer for World War Z is surprisingly zombie-free. Which is probably a marketing decision on Paramount's part, who, for whatever reason, thinks marketing their film as a zombie thriller won't bring people to the theaters. Which seems weird based on Warm Bodies success and the rabid fanbase for Walking Dead. This movie has been an uphill battle from the beginning: Bad press, lengthy reshoots, huge delays. But guess what?
Maybe it all worked. Because this trailer seems pretty damn intense. It might be worth it for the plane sequence alone--but hey, I get it, flying coach sucks.
World War Z finally opens June 21.
