Brace Yourselves: The Sharknado Sequel Finally Has a Title

If you're like me, you haven't been able to sleep for the past few weeks. Why have we been tossing and turning all night, blowing fat rails of Simply Sleep cut with Ambien to no effect? Because they hadn't decided on a new title for the Sharknado sequel. Not knowing is the other half of the battle of living, guys. And not knowing what they're going to name a sequel is pretty much the D-Day of not-knowing.

Well, the wait is over. Are you ready? Can you handle it? The official title for the official sequel to the official Sharknado is...Sharknado 2: The Second One. Phew. Glad that's over.

In case you missed it, they asked for a little help from Twitter and people with no lives to help them name the Empire Strikes Back of Sharknado. They received a little over 5,000 entries, which seems pretty paltry actually. Syfy EVP Thomas Vitale, the new czar of viral programming said:

Since Twitter played such a huge role in the success of the original movie, we wanted to use that platform to ask our fans to name Sharknado 2...We want to thank all our viewers for their wonderful contributions to keeping up the shark-mentum.

I'm starting to wonder if Mr. Vitale just now has a briefcase full of shark-related puns at the ready. Probably.
