This October, Harrison Ford continues his quest to kill off all of his most beloved characters when he reprises his role as Replicant hunter Rick Deckard in Blade Runner 2049. This second trailer for the upcoming sci-fi flick gives us a taste of what's in store plot-wise following a first trailer that was mostly a bunch of beautiful imagery with no hints of a story.
Of course, the most disconcerting thing in the trailer seems to be the fact that Jared Leto's going to play a substantial role. The one silver lining is that the advertising for last year's Suicide Squad seemed to indicate that he was going to have a substantial role and we see how that turned out. Fingers crossed we've got a similar situation on our hands here because with Leto, less isn't just more, it's often too much.
Nevertheless, I trust Denis Villeneuve to deliver something unique and mesmerizing, which he has done fairly consistently throughout his career. While most of the world caught on to him with last year's Arrival, I would encourage you to check out his previous films as they're some of the most singular and fascinating movies of the last few years. Hopefully Blade Runner 2049 continues the trend, and we'll find out for sure when it hits theaters on October 6.
