While nowhere near as revolutionary as its first two seasons, the third season of British anthology series Black Mirror managed to deliver some truly great episodes like the Emmy winning "San Junipero" and the absolutely unnerving "Shut Up and Dance." Shortly after the third season premiere last year, Netflix announced that the show would return for a fourth season, and we now know when that will be.
Obviously, the best news to come out of this is that the show premieres later this month. December 29 to be exact. So once you've gotten the holidays out of your system, you can sit down and be reminded just how soul sucking our existence on this planet can be. The other really great news is that series creator Charlie Brooker has written all six episodes, so they may be more tonally consistent than the third season, which was a bit all over the map.
While I can't wait to watch them all, I'm particularly intrigued by the episode titled "U.S.S. Callister," which appears to be a Star Trek parody of some sort with one of the McPoyles and Meth Damon. You can check out the full trailer for that one below. Season 4 of Black Mirror premieres in full on Netflix on December 29.
