If your life has taken a turn for the worst, don’t blame yourself, blame it on Bill. Geoffrey Owens claims that Cosby is the cause of his financial downfall and the primary reason why he’s working at Trader Joe’s just to keep the lights on. He should look into taking some personal accountability if thinks that an elderly blind black man with hall of fame level sexual misconduct stats is the person that can make or break him. At some point, you have to figure that any adult man pushing over-the-top positivity and pudding pops has something to hide.

Owens, 57, played Cosby’s son-in-law on the long-running series “The Cosby Show” from 1985 to 1992. But when reruns were pulled from syndication during Cosby’s legal battle, it took a toll on the actor’s wallet. “Yes, it impacted me financially,” Owens explained to People of his royalty checks. “At the time that the show was pulled, that did make a difference in our income.”

“That was one of the elements that led to my getting to the place where I said to myself, ‘I have to do something’ and I was thinking, ‘What can I do?’ and the answer ended up being Trader Joe’s. I just had to do something to support myself and my family,” he added.

But while some outlets shamed Owens, his story quickly turned around. He received a mountain of support from fellow actors.

Tyler Perry eventually spoke up, offering Owens a 10-episode deal on his OWN drama, “The Haves and the Have Nots.”

Owens has since accepted the offer and shooting is set to begin this week. Despite the opportunity, Owens recognizes he still may need to go back to Trader Joe’s some day.

I’m going to just throw it out there, any actor that expected to live off of reruns was probably headed for financial trouble, with or without the discovery of Bill surreptitiously seeking easy ass. Ending up as Trader Joe’s cashier after a career in TV is just not trying. There’s no effort required to land that job. Even more insulting is being thrown a ten episode sympathy deal by a 6’5” man that enjoys wearing dresses. It looks like Bill didn’t even have to drop anything in Owen’s drink to ruin Owen’s life.
