TV & FILM

When last we heard, Ben Affleck's solo Batman outing was getting a page one rewrite which would eliminate Deathstroke as the film's main villain. This left Joe Manganiello, the man scheduled to play the villain, out in the cold with nothing but the shirt on his back, if he wore a shirt—which he never does because he's such a hunk.
But not so fast, say the DC movie gods. It seems as though Deathstroke may live again in his own solo movie which, according to The Wrap, might be directed by Gareth Evans, the guy who made The Raid 1 & 2. Evans had apparently come in to pitch an idea for that Justice League Dark movie that they've since shelved, and the DC bigwigs were so impressed by Evans, they have given him the opportunity to bring one of the grittier DC villains to the screen.
It remains to be seen whether this will end up being like that Joker solo movie and end up outside the DCEU or if it will be like that other Joker movie that will be within the DCEU. It also remains to be seen whether or not this thing will be any good, but with a guy like Evans directing, at least it'll look cool.
