Here's a word of advice: If you want to keep your balls, then don't swim when you happen to be touring the Öresund Sound off the southern coast of Sweden. Trust me, that dip ain't worth it, especially when you emerge from the water all bloody and minus two of your ball sacks.
It was recently reported that scores of the ball-biting pacu fish have made their way to Sweden, after a bunch of fishermen reeled in a 21-centimeter pacu. In case you haven't heard of these fishes, they're potentially vicious and could bite your balls off. They also happen to be the cousins of the notorious piranha.
Denmark has already put out a warning: 'Keep your swimwear on if you're bathing in the Sound these days – maybe there are more out there!'
Henrik Carl, who is a fish expert at the museum, explains: 'The pacu is not normally dangerous to people but it has quite a serious bite, there have been incidents in other countries, such as Papua New Guinea where some men have had their testicles bitten off.'
That should be enough to keep people out of the waters of Sweden.
