I don't know what Baby Goose is up to in the new Blade Runner 2049, and to be honest, I'm not as curious as I was back when I didn't know this movie was gonna be over two and a half hours. I can't do extended Jared Leto sequences, that's for sure. Thankfully he's nowhere in sight in this new clip that finds Ryan Gosling running into a sweat shop/church of some sort.
The metaphors are abundant in this new clip that sees our hero walking into a factory and being greeted by the child cult that John Huston was futzing around with in the classic 1979 flick The Visitor. It's all so dense and meaningful and Harrison Ford is snoozing off camera somewhere and Jared Leto's minions are feathering their collective sacks over the news that he's method-ing out once more.
My greatest hope at this point is that director Denis Villeneuve can rise above a rather lackluster cast—though one admittedly filled with people I like such as Robin Wright and Dave Bautista. I mostly just can't take any more of Leto inflating his own myth and then complaining about the myths he perpetuates. The two and a half hour Blade Runner 2049 hits theaters on October 6.
