I suppose we should be thankful that Avril Lavigne has seemingly given up her singing career for movies and modeling. And that she's pretty enough to keep her career alive in magazines for a while after everyone realizes she's a crap actress.
Is it just me, though, or do these pictures of Avril Lavigne from this months Canadian edition of Elle magazine seem really photoshopped? I've seen Avril look amazing, and I've also seen her with really bad acne, so one wonders if these almost-too-good photos have had some computer fixaging applied to them.
The thing about photo retouching (as anyone who watches America's Next Top Model would know) is that it's fairly expensive. Sure, it's not as expensive as recording an album, or shooting a movie, but the publishing industry doesn't like spending more money than it has to, and a model who always needs retouching, will end up losing work.
In the end, it could be that Avril Lavigne might just be left with nothing more than a few hit singles, a couple lame movies, and less magazine spreads than she might have liked. Or I could be wrong about everything I've just said, and she'll have a long and varied career that will surprise us all. But I'm not holding my breath.
