It seemed like Ashlee Simpson was trying so hard. She went back on Saturday Night Live to prove she could "sing." She released a new album. She had managed to avoid any major scandals. So what made her decide to get drunk and go to McDonalds? Seriously, when your whole existence is determined by publicists and marketing VPs, aren't there people around you 24/7 to keep you from doing something so stupid? Whatever, it's not like she matters anyway.
