SUPEREGO

One of the fastest growing games in the world is Pokemon Go. In just little over a week the game where you walk around collecting Pokemon in the real world has become an international phenomenon. I was walking around a couple of days ago in New York City and every other person is staring down at their phone as they walk looking for the odd Pikachu or whatever. People seem to love the game a little too much. But not everyone is overjoyed about Pokemon Go. A pastor and radio host named Rick Wiles believes that the Pokemon, (which is Japanese for pocket monster), are really demons disguised as cute anime critters. He says,
“The enemy, Satan, is targeting churches with virtual, digital, cyber-demons. I believe this thing is a magnet for demonic powers.”
What he's referring to is the fact that a lot of churches are designated as Pokestops where you can get stuff you need for the game. It reminds me of when I was a kid and my evangelical aunt told me that there were demons embedded in the film strip of the first Michael Keaton Batman and that they would possess me if I went to see the movie. I went any way. I doubt that the Pokemon are demons. Satan is way too cool to attack people with something so lame.
