Usually word of a reboot or revival sends people to the internets to decry the defiling of childhoods, but there are exceptions to that rule. One such exception is news that one of the greatest cartoons ever created is getting a revival—Animaniacs. The Steven Spielberg produced animated classic that brought us Pinky and the Brain and a litany of hilarious non-sequiturs long before Family Guy ruined that concept is coming nearly 20 years after its cancellation in 1998.
The show found a second life on Netflix, as so many things do these days, and that has prompted Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment to announce a revival. There's no word on whether the show will go directly to Netflix—as it played a key part in the show's new found popularity—or return to the world of broadcast TV, but there's a ton of excitement building around the possibility of more adventures with the Warner Brothers and Sister.
If, for whatever reason, you've never seen Animaniacs, I must urge you to rectify that horrifying oversight, particularly if you're a parent. These shows are just crying out to be shared with the younger generation with their damn fidget spinners and fizzy drinks. Kids these days, amirite? We'll keep you up to date with the latest info as it comes in, but let us know what your favorite Animaniacs moments are in the comments section below!
