Amy Schumer Replaced By More Accurate Barbie For Movie

The only way Amy Schumer can ever feel pretty is if Marc Silverstein directs it. Hollywood quickly reminded her that when a woman’s schtick is being fat, she can’t fit into the conventional Barbie mold, or movie role. Unless Hollywood decides to huff some of that progressiveness going around on the internet, fat-acceptance Barbie will never be a “thing.” I want to know why was Amy even considered for the part in the first place. When I think of that horrible tune Barbie Girl by Aqua, it perfectly sums up what being a Barbie is about. Amy is not the first thing that comes to mind when I think about fantastic, or plastic. As the only plastic on Amy comes from the pile of Twinkie packaging on her lap after an afternoon binge. Not fantastic at all.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Margot’s casting as Barbie is all but cinched, as the project has moved from Sony to Warner Bros. and her own production company, LuckyChap, is set to take it on. This is a major departure from the initial decision that Amy Schumer was taking the role, in what was sure to be a shake up the stereotype of Barbie being the “ideal woman.

Before, there was no reason for me to ever purchase tickets to a Barbie movie. But that was until Margot Robbie was added as lead. If there’s a PG-13 rating I may attend, as this most certainly means someone will be undressing her down to her skin colored nipple covering pasties. Just like a real Barbie.
