Witnesses who were there in the immediate aftermath of Amar'e Stoudemire cutting his hand after the Knicks lost to the Heat in game two of the series are painting a pretty gruesome picture.
Sources tell ESPN exactly what they saw, and I hope you're not eating lunch right now.
"Half of his hand was just hanging off. It was really bad. Blood was just squirting out. That's why they had the paramedics come in, because they thought he might have punctured an artery because of how much blood was coming out."
Well, that's just disgusting.
If you're aren't aware of what happened, following the Knicks loss, Stoudemire punched a case holding a fire extinguisher after his team went down 0-2 in the series. Amar'e apparently thought it was plastic (of course) and punched through it. His hand was mangled in the process, and he's pretty lucky he didn't cut any tendons or arteries.
The reports are that he had surgery to fix a small muscle and had an undisclosed number of stitches. Stoudemire is out for game three, and 'doutbful' for game four. At least they're optimistic.
