Alyssa Milano is the latest celebrity to sue her business manager for waking up in her 40's and being told she's broke. Milano claims she was swindled and misguided by the firm in charge of her finances, while the firm claims Milano spent like a fiend without care of consequence.

In a ten million dollar civil suit, Milano and her house husband assert that Milano's long time accountant, Kenneth Hellie, forged her name on investment documents to get her into risky ventures where he alone profited. Also, he neglected to pay her taxes and bills resulting in large building leans and penalties. The latter of which makes you wonder how far divorced a person can become from their own finances. Far enough to add up that you're out ten million dollars.

The fault in these increasingly common malfeasance lawsuits is not entirely clear. Johnny Depp claimed his reps fucked up his fortune. His reps claim Depp spent $400,000 a year on wine and bought expensive lesbians like a guy who drinks $400,000 of wine a year. The responsibility is probably in the middle. Irresponsible client mixed with a service provider not wanting to have the tough conversations because the fees are sweet.

With kids raised in the industry who never had a dollar in their pocket but could afford whatever they wanted, there's the complete lack of personal financial responsibility. It affects largely privileged white celebrities and broken home black pro athletes. It makes sense to have somebody else handle your dirty work when you're well-off. That's the point of being well-off. It makes less sense to hand control of all your worldly possessions to a dude you met for twenty minutes once nine years ago.

It's shockingly easy to steal money from people for whom money came easy. As evidence, wealthy actors are always being ripped off, while hard-corner fought crack dealers never are. There's no Who's The Boss revival in the works. Win this lawsuit or your husband might have to find a job.
