This job combing the internet for weird and interesting stories is one of the few things that keeps my old ass connected to what the kids are saying. A few months ago the term "Netflix and Chill" started popping up in the zeitgeist. For those of you who also vividly remember Kurt Cobain's suicide, it is the equivalent of "want to come up for a cup of coffee". In other words it's a pretense you use to get a girl, (or guy), over to your place for bonage without saying, "Hey, why don't you come over for some bonage." With that in mind, an enterprising lister in New York City's West Village converted his room for rent on Airbnb into a Netflix and Chill experience. There is a projector that shows a wide variety of Netflix's terrible film selection and a prominently displayed bed with Netflix covers. In case there isn't any "chilling" that happens, you could always go to any number of expensive restaurants and shops around there.
You've got to love New York. After the big snow storm last week, an Airbnb listing popped up for an igloo someone built in their backyard out of disgusting New York City snow. It was listed for $200 a night. People rented it. You can't blame them for listing it if some idiot took them up on it.
