Will Smith is taking his blockbuster ball and going home. Not enough of us saw After Earth, apparently.
The sci-fi epic in which his son Jaden co-stars only opened at Number 3 last weekend, losing to the sixth entry in a car-racing franchise and a movie about smart-mouthed magicians. Since it didn't debut at number one, he's just reconsidering his whole life. In the lead up to his latest role, he told Digital Spy:
It's been an absolute necessity that the movie be a blockbuster, but I think I'm going to start moving out of that and finding more danger in my artistic choices.
We'd like to know what's more dangerous than starring in an M. Night Shyamalan movie? No, really, what could possibly run the risk of ruining your credibility more? Mumblecore? Wait, the last thing we want to see is Will Smith doing mumblecore. Somebody get this man another blockbuster, please.
