Paul Rudd is a delight and anyone who says otherwise should be placed in a chair with a hole in the seat and have their testicles whipped repeatedly. Rudd has been one of the most affable and pleasant additions to any movie over the last twenty years, and for the first time he's going to be playing multiple roles in the same movie. This might just mean that we've reached peak Paul Rudd.
Living with Yourself is a Netflix Original series where Rudd plays a man who is stumbling through a miserable existence when he visits a spa that promises to make him happy. He wakes up happy, turning over a new leaf, and reevaluating his place in the world. Everything seems hunky dory until the old Paul Rudd comes back in physical form, and the two Rudds must balance their life without giving away this secret.
The series comes to us from former Daily Show writer Timothy Greenberg, with the directing team behind Little Miss Sunshine and Battle of the Sexes at the helm of all eight episodes. There are certainly worse ways to spend 8 hours than in the company of dueling Paul Rudds. I certainly hope this lives up to expectations.
Living with Yourself premieres on Netflix October 18.
