CELEBRITY
editor - March 11, 2013
I don't have a strong desire to cozy up to celebrities. Most of them smell like Altoids and the quiet desperation of short people. But Snoop Dogg happens to be one of my idols. Where else but in America can a ugly mofo weed fiend make tens of millions of dollars, nail tons of hot women, and convince people from punk middle schoolers to wizened grannies that he's a good role model? Nowhere else, that's the fuck where. That's why America rocks.
Snoop Dogg's new rap reggae album Reincarnation coming out along with a documentary film about the making of. He changed his name to Snoop Lion in honor of the Jamaican roots of the new sound. I could decode this, but mostly it just means he's found a new way to make more money.
And talk some funny shit. And some serious words for Chris Brown that strings together more F-bombs and N-bombs than you've heard since the last time they miked Kevin Garnett live during an NBA game.
(Props to Jonathan Hyla for drawing out Snoop in this interview.)
