The terms plus sized and model are pretty much day and night in similarities. They both exist but have such stark contrasts. But in Earth year 2017 you can weigh the amount of a small vehicle and be considered an image of beauty. Being physically fit is for losers, don't waste your time at the gym. Double chins are in. And Steve Aoki's niece Natalie Noontenboom is considering herself a very round revolutionary. She's redefining Asian body stereotypes, one cheeseburger at a time.
She credits her sister Yumi, who is also a plus-size model, with teaching her confidence, and says learning about self-love is responsible for the appreciation she has for her body. She cites Katie Willcox, a plus-size model and author of the book “Healthy is the New Skinny,” as an inspiration.
I never understood plus sized models. You instantly get fired if you get fit right? Don't you have to consciously eat unhealthy to keep getting gigs? I love buffalo wings, fries, and half a gallon of soda at 2 a.m. as much as the next human, but wearing sweatpants all the time because I can't fit my jeans gets old. Just because mean comments on people's body weight isn't right, doesn't by default make being an obese body type something to strive for right either. Stop giving people trophies just for trying. There are lessons in losing, and even more clothing options when what you lose is weight. You're not really a model when your fashionable new top can double as a king sized blanket.
