SNL Still Being Predictable

SNL continues to flaunt their great value brand of comedy with their “Grabbies” award skit. Loads of laughs for no one and predictable punchlines by the pound. It was almost like watching those two bozos from the Sonic Drive-In commercials with sexual harassment as the theme. A sexual misconduct skit just seems like too much of a tee-ball swing by SNL. You can’t miss when it comes to relevancy but it also doesn’t make it hilarious by default. Anyone would have had a better time skipping this skit and spending their Saturday night reading the never-ending puns under every post ever on Reddit. I wonder if there are any humor gems located in /r/sexualmisconduct or are we only allowed to laugh when the “comedians” on TV say it’s okay.

I’m surprised there wasn’t any online outrage over the skit. There are still elite men getting exposed and exposing themselves almost everyday. And it just seems a little early for the victory lap jokes when Weinstein hasn’t even been sentenced yet. I can just imagine how upset every woman in Hollywood would be if he beats every charge and accusation. Then SNL would have to do a parody skit about desperate women trading sex for careers, regretting it later, and then ruining a man’s career in the process. But I don’t think they’d be up for that.
