The thirtieth anniversary of Beetlejuice happened this past March with little to no fanfare, which is odd considering it's one of the best movies of the 80s. Thankfully an intrepid bunch of fans came to the rescue with Documentary for the Recently Deceased: The Making of Beetlejuice, but now they need completion funds so they're turning to a new crowdfunding campaign.
The project is currently live on Kickstarter and the filmmakers are seeking to interview more people involved in the making of the film. You can see the details over at the film's Kickstarter page. There are a wealth of perks for supporters, including a DVD or Blu-ray copy of the doc once it's finished.
If it's been a while since you've seen Beetlejuice, I highly recommend revisiting it. It hasn't aged a day and the film's practical effects give it an otherworldliness that cgi would have ruined. None of this is to mention the brilliant Michael Keaton, who absolutely destroys in this film, in what is perhaps the best performance of his career.
Casual fans, catch up with the movie again. Die hards, consider supporting this doc, it seems like it'll be a great time revisiting this modern American horror comedy classic.
