Remember the scenes from Braveheart with Robert the Bruce? Those were good scenes, right? Well, now we get a whole movie about Robert the Bruce, but with Chris Pine instead of Angus McWhatshisface. That's right, one of the fiercest warriors in the history of Scotland is now being portrayed in a film by the Chris with the most delicate features of them all.
Pine reunites with Hell or High Water director David Mackenzie for Outlaw King, a Netflix Original film set to debut in November. Sure, it looks serviceable and not quite good enough to leave the house for, which is Netflix's sweet spot. However, we really need to talk about Pine's accent.
Put aside the fact that he's way to pretty to have ever been a warrior like this for a moment and just really dwell on that accent. Sit with it for a minute or two. Let it rattle around in your head while you wonder how the hell he got cast in this role in the first place.
Look, the fact that I don't have to pay anyone or leave my bed to watch it guarantees I'll see it at some point. Just don't expect me to be among those streaming it when it's released on Netflix on November 9.
