When he's not busy hawking Tostitos, Jean-Claude Van Damme is still cranking out the hits, and he's re-teaming with his Universal Soldier co-star Dolph Lundgren for a new film, though this time it appears as if they're on the same side. Black Water comes to us from Saban Films, the folks behind Power Rangers, though this is more aging action stars on a submarine than it is horny martial arts teenagers.
Van Damme is some sort of deep-cover operative who is taken to a black site prison aboard a submarine, but they didn't count on him doing the splits and wresting control away from those in charge. He also beds a hot chick who's helping him, played by Jasmine Waltz, and busts out another prison, played by Kindergarten Cop 2 star Dolph Lundgren.
Sure, this looks like a bargain basement production, but I can't help but get excited about the prospect of Van Damme and Lundgren being on the same side in an action flick. Curiously, the film will be available to Dish subscribers first, via their Dish Network platform beginning tomorrow. The rest of us have to wait until June 29 for the film to hit select theaters and be available On Demand everywhere.
