Star Wars fans hungry for more great content will finally get some when the final six episodes of Star Wars: Rebels begins airing one month from today, on February 19. Acting as a bridge between Episode III and Episode IV, Rebels' strength has always been its focus on smaller players in a much larger battle.
Now those characters are knee deep in some of the biggest battles in Star Wars lore, and it's looking like Dave Filoni and crew are really gearing up to dole out some properly done fan service. I mean, you've got Palpatine in there mixing it up for the first time since Revenge of the Sith, voiced of course by Ian McDiarmid who was always the high point in those prequel movies.
According to Deadline, the wait won't be long between the midseason premiere and the series finale as Disney XD is doubling up on episodes each night...
Disney XD will air back-to-back 30-minute episodes on February 19 and 26, culminating with another new half-hour and the 90-minute series finale on March 5. All of the new episodes will be available on VOD and digital platforms the day after their TV airings.
Rebels has the chance to go out as the best Star Wars prequel of them all. I mean, it doesn't have much competition to be honest. Fingers crossed they don't fumble before they reach the end zone.
