Warner Brothers have released the first trailer and poster for their upcoming reboot of Tomb Raider. Oscar winner Alicia Vikander stars as Lara Croft, the formerly impossibly busty adventurer who has been scaled back in several key areas for the 21 Century. The studio has also released this logline describing the film's basic plot...

Lara Croft is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished when she was scarcely a teen. Now a young woman of 21 without any real focus or purpose, Lara navigates the chaotic streets of trendy East London as a bike courier, barely making the rent, and takes college courses, rarely making it to class. Determined to forge her own path, she refuses to take the reins of her father’s global empire just as staunchly as she rejects the idea that he’s truly gone. Advised to face the facts and move forward after seven years without him, even Lara can’t understand what drives her to finally solve the puzzle of his mysterious death.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, Tomb Raider is the story that will set a young and resolute Lara Croft on a path toward becoming a global hero.

That's a logline and a half. I seriously nodded off halfway through and woke up again near the end. I suppose there are some people out there excited about this movie. I mean, at best it would be the best video game movie ever made. At worst, it can't be half as bad as most entries in the genre. There's a poster as well, though poor Alicia suffers from a serious case of giraffe neck in it. Way to go, photoshop wizards!

Tomb Raider, directed by the hilariously named Roar Uthaug, hits theaters on March 16, 2018.
