You may be familiar with Nintendogs, the puntacularly-named pet sim for DS and 3DS. Dressing your flamboyantly gay poodle, Ronaldo, in a flowery bonnet and rainbow collar is, we can all agree, a special kind of pleasure. It's also the kind of thing that's so un-mantastic we can only play in fleeting sessions, and have to travel to the nearest woodland area and shoot something in the face afterwards just to restore the universe's manly equilibrium.

As such, you may think that there are no parallels to be drawn between this family friendly doggy boutique business and Grand Theft Auto. You'd be every damn kind of wrong on that one, as Famitsu reported earlier this week.

In the much-ballyhooed Grand Theft Auto V, we'll have a canine companion named Chop. While his human counterparts can be adorned with jewellery, tattoos and an array of clothing options, Chop can be similarly customized with ‘different color collars, other accessories, and more.' (-destructoid). What, pray, does this ‘more' involve? Can we develop the little guy's helicopter-piloting abilities, for instance, so he can chopper us to safety after a daring bank heist? CAN WE?

Just the image we needed for the occassion. Good job, www.quickmeme.com!

Well, no. Rockstar didn't take any of our demented suggestions.

It's unconfirmed whether these pimping-out-your-dog shenanigans have been added to compete with the notorious canine found in Call of Duty: Ghosts. One thing's certain, though: we've seen gaming's next-gen future, and it's dog-shaped.
