The Los Angeles Lakers 1-4 Start Has People Losing Their Minds

Hey, Lakers fans, get a grip. Apparently some well adjusted folks have decided the best way to vent their frustrations about the team's poor start is to tweet death threats to head coach Mike Brown's teenaged son. It got so bad that point guard Steve Blake's wife had to step into the twitter fracas.

She's right, there's no need for that kind of idiot behavior. It now looks like Mike Brown's job is being threatened too.

Sources tell ESPN.com that the Lakers' upcoming six game homestand could save or lose Brown's job. On paper, most sound winnable. But the Lakers look unbeatable on paper. It's on the hardwood where they've been finding success so elusive. The Lakers should win four of them, with Golden State, Sacramento, Phoenix and Brooklyn among the six games, but they might find it harder to beat San Antonio and Houston.

If they don't go at least 3-3, are 11 games enough to judge Brown with his new team and maybe cost him his job? It seems that way, even though Kobe Bryant has publicly expressed his support for the coach. But does it make a lot of sense to have gone through training camp, the preseason and eleven games to then scrap it and bring a new guy in to try and fix what's broken? I guess we'll find out in a week or so.
