I'm leading off with the Buccaneers because I'm intrigued by the matchup of suddenly unstoppable rookie running back Doug Martin going up against the San Diego defense. The Chargers' run stoppers have been great, giving up just 672 yards on the year, while Martin has 386 yards in just the last two games.
There are five road favorites this week and three games with double digit lines. Craziness!
The teams on byes this week are the Cardinals, Redskins, Browns and Packers. Other than Green Bay, no big loss in entertainment value. The Monday night game this week is the Steelers hosting the Chiefs. How bad do you think ESPN wishes they could flex that game over to Sunday and get one that people might want to watch? If it wasn't for fantasy and gambling, who outside of those two fan bases would tune into that mess? I'm an NFL junkie and I can't imagine watching that, which of course means I will.
The Thursday night game is the red-hot Colts heading down to Jacksonville to beat the Jaguars. Andrew Luck must be pretty excited to face one of the league's worst pass defenses after throwing for 433 yards on Sunday. The game of the week is Sunday night when the Bears host the Texans. That's going to be some smash mouth, hard hitting, fun as all hell to watch football. Could it even be a Super Bowl preview? Perhaps, but I hate it when people call games that. So get ready to hear it about 300 times leading up to and during that game.
