I'm not big on cars so I don't really know what a CVT is. It spells out to 'continuously variable transmission' and is apparently a transmission that's more fuel efficient than conventional automatic transmissions that's found in most cars nowadays.
If you happen to know your way around a typical car engine (and a CVT) and love LEGO, then no doubt you'll be impressed with this 100% working LEGO CVT.
This CVT enables a variation of the speed (and the torque) from 40rpm to 200 (1/5, 1,1) with constant speed for the motor (200rpm). This device is on the way to be included in a LEGO car.
I don't really know what that means, but I think we're supposed to be impressed by that part right there. Regardless, it's still pretty cool to see something rendered in LEGO that happens to work that also happens to exist in real life. Check it out!
