GAMING
bill-swift - May 11, 2012
After a gameplay video was leaked in September of last year, Marvel fans rejoiced at the thought of a game where they could play as their favorite team of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. The video, however, was also released during a time where the developer of the game, THQ, was in the process of shutting down multiple projects and 'The Avengers' was one of them.
We all cried a little bit inside while watching Iron Man fly around in first-person view as if we were the one's wearing that famed suit of armor, knowing damn well that we'd never get to experienced the finished product...until now.
Alright so, just to make things clear, the cancelled Avengers game has not been resurrected from the dead but Ubisoft has managed to snag the rights to finally make a proper Avengers game.
Ubisoft's Quebec offices are currently in the process of making Marvel's The Avengers: Battle For Earth for the Kinect and Wii U while Sony's 'Move' will apparently be left out...probably because it sucks.
While details are definitely few and far in between, Battle for Earth will apparently center around the 'Secret Invasion' storyline. Players will be able to choose from over 20 playable characters, which means we'll be seeing a lot more than the characters in the hero movie lineup.
What will be really interesting to see is how the motion controls will play a role in this game.
