Games companies have a long history of bitching at each other, trying to undermine each other and all that sort of business. Remember, console wars aren't just fought in the comment sections of Youtube videos about Xbox One/PS4 games. It doesn't stop at poorly-spelt Xbox r shit tirades. Sony and Microsoft play their part in the whole thing too.
Nintendo meanders about like a huge what-the-hell-is-online gaming dinosaur, sure, but the other two have a real tit for tat battle going on. These guys have been busting out advertising brilliance like Sega does what Nintendon't for decades now, and there's no sign of that stopping any time soon.
After all, this is the holiday season right here. Consumer cashtacular is even more important than it is the rest of the year, so PR guys have to get their shit together. They have to advertise holy hell out of any feature their console has that the others don't. And what functionality did Xbox One just get that PS4 doesn't have?
Backwards compatibility, that's what. The latest big ol' Xbox update added this, while Sony are making do with the game-streaming faffing that is PlayStation Now. So, spotting an opportunity to give their rival a quick middle finger, Microsoft have released this snarky tutorial guide to playing Xbox 360 games on the One:
