What is the greatest film franchise in the last 20 years? No, it's not Star Wars or The Avengers. It's obviously Syfy's epic Sharknado series. The tale of a family whose sole mission in life seems to be to battle sharks that get sucked up into tornadoes is back as we all knew it would be. Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, and David Hasselhoff will reprise their roles from the previous films. What else do they have going on? But they have added an interesting element: Gary Busey. The insane 80's star and reality show staple will play Tara Reid's father Wilford Wexler a robotics scientist. Yeah, you read that right. I'm not sure how you go about directing Busey who is a few cans short of a six pack. I'm just glad I don't have to do it.
What is unknown is the fate of Tara Reid's character. At the end of Sharknado 3, she appears to be possibly killed by a fragment of the space shuttle. They filmmakers have a social media campaign where people Tweet either #AprilLives or #AprilDies to decide her fate. If I know Sharknado fans, Reid will not be around for Sharknado 5.
