GAMING

Here it comes, Ego-gents. Doom is so close you can almost smell the horde of hideous mutant flesh-things therein. Just two months (May 13) to go to release.
Still, in the world of video game hypetastic, two months is a long freaking time. They’ve got to bombard our eyeballs with screenshots, trailers, news of special editions and pre-order bonuses, all of that good stuff. Not to mention those goddamn banners that expand to fill your whole browser window if your mouse strays within fifty yards of them. Sometimes, you can’t even close them because the button is fake and leads to another ad. The cheeky bastards.
Anywho, yes. Doom is a big damn deal around these parts. So you can bet that the hype train will be relentless in these last weeks. And you know what that means: New trailer time.
Last time, we had a closer look at the campaign mode. Which is all well and good, but FPSers know that multiplayer is where it’s at (less so with Doom, maybe, but this is 2016, grandpa). Let’s see what the game’s doing to stay relevant in this Call of Duty-saturated age.
The USP? Probably the pick-up that allows you to transform into a demon yourself mid-match. That aside, the whole ultra violence thing isn’t something you see in shooters much, and it’s sure been dialled up to eleven since we saw Doom last. As has the speed. Check it out in action below.
