‘Zombieland’ Becomes Another Genre Show Based on a Film We’re Not Sure Needs to Be Made

Yesterday we told you all about how the the Emma Stone(andjesseeisenberg) movie Zombieland, a story of four people trying to survive in the post-zombified U.S., was getting turned into a TV show. Well, not so much a TV show as an internet show as Amazon.com has picked up the show to air exclusively on its streaming Amazon Prime service. It's probably not the biggest vote of confidence that networks passed on the show. And let's not forget that a sequel to the blockbuster couldn't even get off the ground because the filmmakers couldn't find a decent enough story to tell for another movie. If that's the case, how can you plan an entire series?

But one does have to hold out hope for the Zombieland series as there's so little quality genre TV out there anymore (not that the last couple seasons were any good, but Fringe held the banner for a long time). We have our Walking Dead and our Games of Thrones, but with Syfy giving up its programming slots to low budget Megadog vs Catoctopus, and major networks preferring to go with Twilight-esque romantic series like Beauty and the Beast, Once Upon a Time and Mike and Molly, we could use any help we can get. But as you can see in our gallery, TV shows based on genre films are hit or miss.
