SUPEREGO
Michael Garcia - June 22, 2016
With the imminent release of Independence Day: Resurgence we are all a flutter with anticipation. I recently rewatched the original ID4 and I can say that while it is not a good movie, it is one of the most entertaining films of the 90's. Tell me you didn't cheer when Randy Quaid sacrificed himself to blow up the battle ship or weren't moved by Bill Pullman's Henry V pre-battle speech? It definitely has the stamp of its creator Roland Emmerich. Another director couldn't have pulled it off. Michael Bay would have royally messed it up. But what if Wes Anderson took a swing at it? He usually makes smaller quirky movies with impeccable art direction. It would certainly be a different movie tone wise. I'd actually like to see Wes Anderson try and direct Liam Hemsworth...or is it Chris? Who cares? It's the one plowing Miley Cyrus.
But we'll probably never see it...unless you count this video by Todd Spence.
