When I was a kid growing up in the 80's I had three cousins that were twenty years older than me that were seriously into metal. One of their favorite groups was the British rock band Iron Maiden. They used to scare the crap out of me with their t-shirts emblazoned with Maiden's mascot Eddie. He's some kind of desiccated corpse or something. Whatever he is he frightened me, which my a-hole cousins relished. Now I can relive those memories and perhaps overcome them with a new video game for the iPhone called Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast. In it you play as Eddie himself, using his different guises over the years to overcome foes. The product description reads,
"Battle as Eddie across amazing worlds, inspired by Iron Maiden’s rich imagery and music. Fight legions of unrelenting enemies as you piece together the shattered remnants of Eddie’s soul, and ultimately save the universe!"
It's free to play and I think I'm going to download it. It's time I face my childhood fears and not run to the hills. Run for my liiiiiffe! Get it here.
