Why Isn’t This 8-Bit ‘Star Wars’ Game A Real Thing?

By this point, most of us have our opinions on The Force Awakens. Critics received it pretty damn positively, overall, but there's always something to bitch about. Where the Internet's concerned, the bitching never ends.

Similarly, there's one thing we can all –mostly, give or take-- agree on: the original Star Wars movies were freaking awesome. Let's not go into the ‘original' originals, with Jar Jar Binks and other hideous ballaches like that, we're talking episodes IV to VI. Y'know, Luke and Vader duelling it up, Ewoks, exhaust port weakspots and all that good stuff. What's not to like?

In the video game world, Star Wars has done a little better than most franchises. Super Star Wars and Rogue Leader and the like were damn good, for licensed games. But they're just not quite retrotacular enough for me. Or the good folks at CineFix.

8-Bit Cinema has been taking movies and reimagining them as badass vintage game trailers for some time now. We saw The Silence of the Lambs a while back, but here's their take on the original Star Wars trilogy:  

There's even an It's dangerous to go alone, take this! joke, for the retro nerds among us.
