The line between a "teaser" and a "trailer" can be pretty blurry. Depending on the studio, the difference might be as little as 30 seconds and a few lines of dialogue.
However, Ben Stiller and the folks at Paramount weren't kidding when they labeled this here video a teaser for Zoolander 2. It features just one character and reveals absolutely nothing of the plot—because it doesn't feature any actual footage from the film. Instead, it starts with a full minute of existential dialogue from a Stephen Hawking sound-alike, the purpose of which is to set up a single punchline that takes all of three seconds for Derek Zoolander to deliver.
Is it funny? Yeah, it's funny. And it leaves you wanting more, which is precisely the point. But would it have killed them to give us even a minuscule glimpse of the actual film?
On the bright side, we probably won't have to wait too long for more. Zoolander 2 hits theaters February 12, 2016.
