TV & FILM

Comic book fans are likely outraged over my technically incorrect statement up there as Zachary Levi has been cast to play Captain Marvel in the upcoming Shazam film. However, had I phrased it that way, I would have had to deal with a slew of confused people over the fact that they thought Captain Marvel was a woman and Brie Larson had already been cast in the role.
You may know Zachary from his roles on the TV show Chuck or as one of the Warriors Three in Thor: The Dark World. If you're a parent, you probably know him best as Flynn Rider from Tangled, though I doubt his singing talents will need to be called upon in this role. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news over the weekend that Levi would be playing Captain Marvel, aka Shazam, in the upcoming DC film from director David F. Sandberg (Annabelle: Creation).
He seems like a solid choice for the role and he'll have to go up against The Rock's Black Adam eventually, so that will be fun. I guess we'll all find out soon enough how he fares as Shazam hits theaters, believe it or not, in April 2019.
