New “X-Files” Teaser Is Short And Moody

When I was in college my cousin John and I used to binge watch the X-Files. Back then it was both in syndication and still running on Fox. We never missed an episode of the adventures of Mulder and Scully against the evil government conspiracy hiding the truth about aliens. I remember we used to heat up these chicken wings that came in a giant bag from Sam's and veg out. But, as much as I love the show, I am somewhat trepidatious about this revival of the series. It's just that it's rare that a reboot, or sequel, or whatever of a beloved movie or TV show done years after the fact is any good. It's usually either pandering to the audience's sense of nostalgia or it is a sloppy, half-assed attempt to recreate the original.

If this incredibly quick preview is to be believed it is a continuation of the original story with people walking around with flashlights and guns drawn in dark rooms. You know, like the original. It's going to be interesting to see whether or not they can recapture the magical weirdness of the original or whether it will just be a soulless rehash.
