CNBC had New York Jets owner Woody Johnson on today, and for whatever reason asked him if he was aware that Tim Tebow is still a virgin or not. Johnson sidestepped the question nicely. Way to go, CNBC. You can check it out here for yourself.
More importantly, Johnson said that Tebow will be a Jet for at least three years. It's not the first time time Johnson has expressed his infatuation with Tebow, he said a couple weeks ago that you can never have enough Tebow. What this is doing is basically making an already uncomfortable situation in New York more complicated.
Head coach Rex Ryan said yesterday that there was no question that Mark Sanchez, who's completing 48 percent of his passes, was going to remain the starter. At some point, Rex is going to bow to the pressure that he has to be feeling.
It's not as if Tebow is the ultimate answer in New York. I keep harping on Sanchez and his awful stats, but Tebow's career completion percentage is 47.3, but he is 10-6 as a starter. Sanchez is 29-23 as a starter and his career completion percentage is an underwhelming 54.6.
It's obvious that Sanchez is feeling the heat. You can just look at his body language and the exasperated look on his face to see that he's wondering when he's going to get pulled. Another loss this week and it just might happen. The Jets are favored to beat the Colts at home, but if they get off to a slow start, it might finally be Tebow time.
