Who Should Star & Direct A New Batman Reboot?

It's going to happen. We all know it is, so there is no point in flirting around it anymore, Batman will get rebooted once again in the near future. It's an absolute certainty.

We can't put an exact date on it yet but at some point a newsflash will appear to reveal that The Dark Knight will be with us once more and every Bat fan will pee in glee.

Christopher Nolan's epics have been so well received and immaculately created to such an extent that any filmmaker who attempts to retell his tales of Bruce Wayne, Alfred and friends is only going to get lambasted to hell.

So we felt that it would be nice to help the people in charge of this decision and advise them with who they should hire in each of the main roles. I know, I know, you're welcome.

Director - Clearly this is the most important call to make. It needs to be someone with a clear vision, who can embrace mainstream Hollywood aesthetics with ease yet has something to prove and will embrace the Bat culture to suffocating levels. Darron Aronofsky started to create his own Batman story about a decade ago but was stopped in pre-production, his twisted version would certainly entice. But what about the likes of David Fincher, Duncan Jones, Guillermo Del Toro or Rian Johnson, who could each bring a unique take to Gotham, it's hero and it's villains

Who Should It Be? Duncan Jones, Moon and Source Code are each sensible, well-crafted and fascinating adventures that are based on solid and simple story-telling techniques and appealed to large audiences.

Batman - Despite his superlative performances, Christian Bale's Batman still left room for improvement. His gravely voice and intense disposition didn't leave much room for manoeuvre, so maybe a fresh approach to the caped crusader is in order. He's got to be mature yet ready to dish out a beating at any point, so maybe if Michael Fassbender can re-harness some of his pent up sexual energy into pure violence we'd be onto a winner. But what about the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal, Clive Owen or Jeffrey Dean Morgan?

Who Should It Be? Nah, it has to be Fassbender all the way. The man immediately elevates any film he is in and his Wayne would be mesmerising.

Supporting Characters -  The problem for any rebooter now is, which villains do you use? Ra's al Ghoul, The Joker, Bane and Two-Face are Batman's most synonymous bad guys, and they've been performed to absolute perfection. Do you attempt to outdo them? Or bring in a whole different side to the Batman world. Make it more comic booky with the like of The Riddler, Mr Freeze, The Penguin and Killer Croc. Or think even bigger, by pitting him against Superman and other superheros?

Who Should It Be? Superman and Batman have an incredibly fragile and complicated relationship that has been depicted in several comics and would look incredible on screen. It would probably make a bob or two too!
