Michael Garcia - March 11, 2016
I love the movie Beetlejuice. It's back from when Tim Burton made awesome movies. Michael Keaton was incredible as the perverted ghost trying to help Gina Davis and Alec Baldwin scare away a family of yuppie a-holes from their old house. Who can forget the dinner party scene where everyone is possessed by the spirit of calypso? Tim Burton has confirmed that it is really happening,
"The film is a go and has been approved by the Warner Bros. team, we have talked with the cast members we wanted for the film and they are all on board, this includes both Winona [Ryder] and Michael [Keaton]. We have the script in hand everything is in place all we need to do now is get ready to start filming."
This concerns me for several reasons. First of all, it is a law of science and the universe that sequels made 20 years after the original film are rarely any good. Secondly, Tim Burton isn't the director he used to be. His last few movies have been crap. I'll go see it, of course, because I am a sucker for punishment. Maybe it will be good...but I doubt it.
